Amy Tanaka is a dedicated artist who seamlessly integrates her passions for sustainability, the fresh food movement, gardening, and children’s art education into her work. She has spearheaded numerous community engagement projects, including mural installations, Kids Fall Harvest Festivals, Green Long Beach Festivals, Firehouse Fiber Arts Shows, and art education workshops. Through these initiatives, Amy fosters unity and pride within the community, creating vibrant public spaces and enriching the lives of local residents.

As the Director of Education at Centro Cultural and a City Councilor for Cornelius, Angeles Godinez Valencia is committed to building meaningful partnerships for change and developing culturally specific programs for the Latinx community. Beyond her professional commitments, Angeles volunteers her time as a Cornelius City Councilor and contributes to science after-school programs at Neil Armstrong Middle School and Tom McCall Upper Elementary. Her dedication to working with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), youth from marginalized communities, and non-traditional students allows her to effectively advocate for underrepresented voices in the education system. Angeles creates unique, culturally specific lessons in technology and engineering. Through her extensive professional and volunteer work, she has learned to understand and respect the needs of her community, ensuring that everyone has access to equitable opportunities.
