Описание: This week on Open Studio Jared Bowen goes behind the scenes with a look at "SIX," which is now onstage at the Emerson Colonial Theatre. The Tony award-winning musical tells the stories of the wives of Henry VIII. "Divorced, Beheaded, Died; Divorced, Beheaded, Survived," are among the catchy lyrics that sum up the fate -and articulate the attitude- of these queens who are reclaiming their place in history.

From there Jared Bowen sits down with photographer Rosamond Purcell. In the last half-century as an artist, Purcell has been an innovator in the field of photo manipulation, using layering, negatives and reflection. Now, after 50 years of conjuring mind-bending images, Purcell is getting her first retrospective at the Addison Gallery of American Art.

Then, it's time to get into the holiday spirit by way of the "Urban Nutcracker." In 2001 Anthony Williams envisioned a different kind of "Nutcracker" for Boston. More than a choreographer, Williams is an alchemist who has mixed hip-hop, street theater, and Duke Ellington with Tchaikovsky's music to give a holiday classic a contemporary spin. Ahead of the "Urban Nutcracker's" upcoming performances at the Boch Center Shubert Theatre, we bring you a preview of the PBS special: Anthony Williams' Urban Nutcracker

Jared Bowen wraps up the show with Arts This Week, his rundown of the latest plays to hit Broadway.
