Edward Alexander Bouchet made history in 1876 when he earned the doctor of philosophy degree from Yale College. Born 1852 in New Haven, Connecticut to William Francis and Susan Cooley Bouchet. Edward attended segregated schools until he matriculated at Yale. Dr. Bouchet shines as a scholar who could see possibility.
