Film Synopsis:
It's 1942, New York City. The film follows a newly enlisted soldier, Warren Dempsey, who is is terrified of entering the ever-growing war. So much so, that he is unable to enjoy the night of dancing which his brother, James, has planned for them, with dates to match. This seems to change when Warren gains the attention of Helena Zimmer, the sweet girl who shines the boys' shoes before the occasion. Helena is a writer who hands out notes to all her customers, in hopes to brighten people's day in such a trying time. Mostly, these notes go unnoticed, but Warren doesn't feel he can ever forget his.
