Along with a full-time job in academics, it works in the area of the community (retail) pharmacy and consumer education. Works with all sectors: academia, trade associations, government authorities, regulators, pharmacy councils, corporate sector, media, and professional associations.

The main interest is to improve medicine literacy in the community, professionalize retail pharmacy practice, and engage pharmacists in public health activities. Has extensive local and global networks.

Through IPA project, worked to develop innovative public-private partnership engaging retail pharmacists in Govt’s National TB program DOTS and majorly contributed for the entry of pharmacists in any national health program.

Started innovative campaign ‘Aushadhsaksharta”(medicine literacy) to improve medicine usage by the consumers since the year 2008. Write regularly in leading newspapers on the correct use of medicines and a book Aaushdhbhan is published on this topic. It also uses TV and Radio media effectively for consumer education. Invited speaker at several international conferences regularly. Visited more than 18 countries for professional participation. Contributed to several books and publications. Involves students in public health projects. Recipient of several awards from professional, social organizations at the local and national levels.
