Hey Commander!! In this video we start our new playthrough as a progenitor hive empire. Our goal is to conquer the galaxy and turn every planet into a volcanic world following the newest infernals crisis path. We're playing against the strongest and earliest crisis possible at 25x in 2250 with maximum aggressive AI and Grand Admiral difficulty No Scaling. So the galaxy is extremely hostile to us. It's going to be a fun challenge.
Now regarding the build:
Origin:
Progenitor Hive - It's a good pick, gives passive EXP to all our leaders. Leveling up our councilors speed up our agenda progress and also gives us a lot of bonuses such as pop growth speed, monthly unity, less deviancy and more research speed. Councilors for gestalt consciousness empires also have one of the best veteran traits (since they don't get the OP destiny ones), so leveling them up is great. This origin also comes with some bonuses to our fleets, but we must have the progenitor ships or the starbase building in order to benefit from it, otherwise we get massive negative modifiers.
Government:
Hive Mind - Not really much to say, we're a hive.
Ethics:
Gestalt Consciousness - Same. We must be this in order to be a hive mind.
Civics:
Memorialists - By far the best unity producing civic for hives, since we get the powerful memorialist building which grants +0.5 unity per maintenance drone. Since in the start of the game we have so many of them, we start off with a pretty large unity output. On top of that, this civic turns every synapse drone into chroniclers drones, which also improve the planet's stability on top of giving us unity. This is fantastic, since Gestalt Empires basically have a cap of 75% stability from amenities (except Rogue Servitors though) and thus having more sources to achieve 100% is extremely valuable.
Neural Network - Combos with memorialists quite well since it also gives unity from maintenance drones. In addition, it gives science from them and increase our research alternatives by +1, which is helpful in streamlining our tech tree.
Traits:
Traditional - More bureaucrat job efficiency, good for unity.
Pyroclastic Channeling - 10% more pop growth speed in volcanic worlds. It also only costs 1 point, granted it's capped at only volcanic planets it's still pretty good
Charismatic - +20% Influential job efficiency. This sounds troll, however it's good since maintenance drones count as influentials, so you buff them up and be strong early give with the civics we picked.
Ruler:
Governor - Principled - More stability in the early game, but we're picking governor here mainly for the bonuses to job output, unity output, planetary infrastructure cost reduction and improved speed and also terraforming speed for later on creating hive worlds for us.
