At the southernmost edge of Argentina, in the windswept city of Ushuaia, stands a prison.

Built in the early 20th century, the Presidio de Ushuaia housed hundreds of inmates in one of the most remote and unforgiving environments on Earth. Surrounded by icy waters, harsh Patagonian winds, and snow-covered mountains, escape was nearly impossible.

This video features real footage from inside the former prison,
isolated cells that once confined criminals and political prisoners alike. Among them was anarchist prisoner Simón Radowitzky, who described years of isolation in his letters.

Today, the prison stands as a museum — but its walls still echo with those who lived and suffered here.
