'THE FALL LINE' is is my continuous story of searching for the most beautiful ski descents in the world. I started in Utah, Wyoming, and Washington, and I hope to use backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering as my reason to see different parts of the world.
Widely considered one of the greatest ski lines in the Tetons, Apocalypse Couloir gives you a bit of everything the Tetons have to offer... steep skiing, rappelling, incredible views, and the potential to ski the line in deep powder conditions. I had been patient during a season riddled with persistent weak layers and sketchy avalanche conditions, and finally saw a weather/conditions/stability window I liked. This is the first of two lines I skied in the Tetons in 2 days. We paid close attention to the conditions on our ascent, and decided we could ski the line safely. Please read the Bridger Teton Avalanche forecast and do your research before skiing avalanche terrain in the Tetons.
