Working on my 1979 Jeep Wagoneer Limited, I finally track down and fix a persistent lifter tick on the AMC 360.
In this video I:
• Replace the oil pan gasket
• Replace the transmission pan gasket
• Diagnose valvetrain noise
• Swap a problematic set of rockers
• Confirm the fix and quiet the tick
This Wagoneer runs an AMC 360 with an Edelbrock intake, Holley Brawler carb, Quadratrac, and a spring-over-axle conversion. If you’re dealing with lifter or valvetrain noise on an AMC V8, this might help.
