9 Months ago I made the decision to diverge from more than 50 years of family legacy. For that period of time our family has driven General Motors vehicles almost exclusively. After a poor customer service experience with my Buick Envista, I made the decision to take a break from family history and check out how things were going on Team Subaru.
Now 9 months later and 22K+ miles, with my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Limited, I'm happy to report that things are going very well. Car is going strong and it is much much more capable than my old Buick. Now, I have not shut the door on GM forever, but unless I'm buying a truck, full-size SUV, or sports/muscle car, I don't see myself going back to them anytime soon, unless they can match the soft-roading capability of Subaru. GM's AWD system is a step above trash and Subaru's continues to be the standard of the industry.
So who knows where things will be in another 9 months. Maybe GM will get its act together, maybe Subaru will go off the deep end with electrification. All I know is, in the here and now, I'm pretty happy here on Team Subaru with my Crosstrek.
