Kad staneš pred njega, vidiš i prošlost i budućnost.
Spoj betona i šume ima specifičnu snagu. Umjesto da novi element naruši stari, on mu pruža još jedan, neobičan kostur za rast. Šuma obujmljuje beton i prilagođava ga sebi.

At the site of the secret World War II partisan hospital two concrete petals shoot up from the forest floor. The hospital hasn’t been preserved, but the monument represents it: tremendous, alien, timeless. Standing in front of it, you see both past and future.
The concrete and the forest combined are powerful in a specific way. The new element is not a disturbance. It provides the forest with a new skeleton to grow on. The forest envelops the concrete, adapting it to itself.
The site is neglected today, as well as the idea it represents.
We as Dunjaluk, a band giving new expression to tradition, have recognized ourselves in that setting, in the mix of organic and synthetic, order and chaos, growth and decay.
The idea was to communicate with the space, to animate it, to let it shape the sound. Ultimately, to give it purpose in a time when it has none. The timbre of voice and guitar are to a large extent dictated by concrete.
This video is a story of a space told through its traditional music and visual art. It’s a fusion of two attempts to bring the past into the present, and give it over into the ruthless hands of the future.
