The ‘New Normal’, as it stands, is a heightened level of inter connection within groups (social, peer, traits, and other) and how those groups currently interface with one another and the world at large. My work focused on how underserved youth – those most affected by the new normal – stand to benefit the most from this type of information collection, however, the message they often receive, or pay attention to, are ones of dubious quality and/or vapid. Much of the problem stems from a value system that is ingrained to be off target at a young age – but no person right of mind would ever voluntarily choose such a state. Something else is amiss and I would like to explore this duality under the context of lessons learned from the founding of my own organization, the backdrop by which it was started, and
the questions it raises given its learnings.
