Описание: USS Croaker S-246 EMD Diesel Engine Room. 3 of the 4 EMD's have heads removed. Buffalo Naval Park has audio of running engine sounds to help relive the memories. I will link a well written article by John Ruddy that highlights Frank Scheetz. At the end of the video a link is available to see his headstone. Frank Scheetz served in the U. S. Navy as QMC for WW2 & Korea a full 20 years. He first proposed the USS Croaker as a submarine museum. He also helped source the USS Nautilus now in Groton,CT. Frank Scheetz founded and was President of the Submarine Memorial Association. As I visit the park I take new videos and hope to see improvements to USS Croaker SS-246, in Wisconsin the USS Cobia launched a month before SS-245 is also on display. The USS Croaker would have looked like the USS Cobia before her conversion to a SSK. Hopefully the Croaker will be restored new like the USS Cod. The USS Ling is another submarine from that era that flooded in New Jersey. One video links to them to hear positive updates.

Cleveland Diesel Engine Division was used in 77 submarines. Later this brand was obsorbed into EMD. The engines were 16 cylinder v-type.
