Wheel Check Up With the World's Lightest Spokes

Описание: Berd Polymer spokes allow us to build some of the lightest wheelsets known today. This wheelset was build with our housebrand FliteX ULS30 rims, Extralite Hyperboost 3R hubs and BERD polylight spokes. In their untensioned state we like to call them spaghetti spokes as they are more like a set of shoe laces, unlike steel spokes that are rigid.

Marc advised the customer of this unbelievably light (937 gram!) MTB wheelset to come in for a routine checkup after 1000km, or 20 rides. Working with the BERD spokes is a whole other game in the sense of building wheels with them. It is actually quite challenging, and we were curious to see how the destressing method we came up with for these spokes, is holding up in real world conditions.

It actually turned out to be spot on. The front wheel was still true within 0,1mm total. The rear came in with 0,15mm total and only needed minor adjustments to be tuned back to 0,1mm. Next service interval will be in the standard 5000km / 1 year maintenance schedule.
