Each composition that the great composer Koteeswara Iyer has created in the 72 melakarta ragas is a delight. Among these, the compositions in the vivadi ragas hold a special place in my heart.
Kosalam has been a raga for me that has always been in mind since I first heard the beautifully tuned 'Kaani nilam vendum' sung by one of my favourite voices, Vidwan P Unnikrishnan. I've listened to it on loop many a time. Learning Ka Guha Shanmuga was therefore, a great experience for me, and since then I have always loved to feature it in my concert list, although sometimes lists dont quite work out the way you want to. This is one time it did. Joining me for this concert were Vaibhav Ramani (violin) and J Vaidyanathan anna (mridangam). Let me know if you like it!
