Jennifer once measured time by mistakes she wished she could undo. Struggling with meth addiction, she eventually found herself in jail. When she was released, she made a quiet but powerful decision: this would be the last time her past defined her. She was tired of surviving. She wanted stability, purpose, and a real chance.
Determined to find work, Jennifer applied everywhere. Interview after interview seemed promising until her record came up. After so many rejections, she started to feel invisible, like no one was willing to look beyond her past. Then Goodwill reached out. Through their Second Chance program, they offered her an opportunity, asking only that she commit to showing up and doing the work.
She did more than that. Ten years later, Jennifer works in Asset Protection, has had her record expunged, and is working toward becoming a manager. This is what Goodwill is about: Changing lives through the power of work.
