This isn't an entirely honest list because I've decided to omit any of the dozens of terrible poverty row westerns and serials Wayne made in the 1930s. I left them out, not because I don't think they're among his worst movies, they certainly are. But because there are so many of them and they're all about equal in their awfulness, I didn't think including any would be practical.
