Hey, everybody welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby. Today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 here on our 2021 Ford Bronco. So this is going to be a nice way, guys, of giving yourself a decent little carry to go ahead and get those two bikes to your destination. Now I say decent, but Kuat definitely not near here more premium carriers, as they do put a lot of heart and effort into their craft. As you guys can see, we have a nice stylist design here. Today We are working on need gun metal.
Gray has these nice copper orange accents throughout it as well, which really make it pop, which is excellent. But it's not just style, this is also going to have great capabilities with a 40 pound capacity and overall just a lot of great features to go ahead and start securing your bikes. Now, if you're not quite liking this style, it does come in a variety of different colors, including Pearl and black. So you guys can go ahead and accessorize to your own needs, which is excellent. Now right out of the gate, though, you are having a front tire, hold onto your bikes.
Now what that's excellent for as you guys can see our carbon frame bikes are gonna to have no problem getting carried by this as we have no frame contexts. So we won't be warping those frames. It also is gonna to be great for any kind of women's bikes except your bikes or kids' bikes. A lot of times with some other carriers out there, they have a frame mounted design. And usually that starts having a hard time with this irregular frames, but because the front tire higher hold, we don't have to worry about that.
As long as we have one good front tire to go ahead and hold on to, we're gonna have an AOK time getting our bikes to our destination. So, you guys kinda have a pretty good idea of how this ratcheting arm system works just goes right down on that wheel. Won't be popping up unless I hit that button of course, which is excellent. Our front cradle here does a great job as acting as a backer as well. I really like how much securance you're given that front wheel because of it.
And even if you do have slightly too long of a bike, I wouldn't have my entire back wheel hanging off, but if you had just a little bit of an overhang, as you guys can see that acts is a great stopping point, a good backer to make sure it's not rolling off. You have a locking core right here on the front platform as well. Making sure you can take the included cable lock through both of your bikes, run it right back down and have it nice and secure. And that locking core will be keyed alike to the hitch lock that we'll break down later in the video. On the back here too, you do have this nice little oscillating back cradle here. That's going to be great to go ahead. And like we said, account for your smaller or longer wheel basis. The strap here is really, really nice too. I really liked the inner matting on it, just as a great job of preventing any damage to our wheel rim and just make sure that we have a nice secure hold on our bike. Now, the one thing that's awesome about this guy, it actually can tilt away with our bike, still loaded up on it. Now, not going to be the hugest advantage that our Bronco might be able to achieve, but all we have to do to get that working for us is pull that lever right there. That's gonna allow me to tilt this down in a way. Now I can come up to the side here and I'm not gonna get full access, of course, 'cause we do have a big old spare tire there, but that's still gonna let me rest my tire right there. I can come in, grab those coolers, bike helmets, anything else I might need from the inside. The one thing of course, can't open this guy 'cause you don't have enough opening. So do keep that in mind, you are a little limited, but I think that's going to be an issue you're gonna to run into with almost any carrier that you throw on here with the exception of something like the Rocky Mounts backstage that's can completely swing away. You need total access to the back here of your Bronco or something like the Yakima Exhaust system both sporting that swing away system. And that can be excellent to go ahead and actually give you access to that cargo. But it's still nice that we have that tilt away capability so we can get a little bit of access there. Or if you throw this on the end of your other vehicles, you actually can go ahead and get that open, if you do have like a hatch style vehicle,
