Dedicated to my dearest mother, Elona - you mentioned to me a while ago how this is your favourite fairytale, so I've found one that is a nod to your German Heritage.
There are many early renditions of the tale of Cinderella, this one was written by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812, it was originally titled: Aschenputtel, or "The Little Ash Girl" which then became Cinderella in English translations.
This story is generally accepted as a story about love and the victory of good over evil and relationships between siblings.
