After days of chaos and massive disruptions, India’s aviation regulator DGCA has issued a show-cause notice to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers and COO Isidre Porqueras over widespread flight cancellations and passenger inconvenience. The regulator blamed poor planning and failure to follow Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules for the crisis. Over 850 flights were cancelled in a single day. The Civil Aviation Ministry has ordered Indigo to clear all pending refunds and return lost baggage within set deadlines. To control soaring airfares caused by the disruptions, the government has also imposed strict fare caps on domestic flights.
