Collins International Webinars: Promoting Positive Role Models - Session 1 with Hazel Atkins

Описание: We’re delighted to be hosting this webinar season with a collaboration with WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) as two of their Young Professionals board members speak about their roles, their paths into STEM and the impact teachers like you can have on helping young learners reach their full potential.

Hazel Atkins will be speaking about her first-hand experiences, her own role models and why the work that WISE do in diversity and inclusion is essential and ground-breaking. This will be followed by a panel Q&A with Lizzie Catford, Primary Publisher for Collins, who will be able to talk about the importance of role models within reading and in particular, the success of the Tara and Dani Binns series which forms part of our Collins Big Cat reading scheme.

Hazel Atkins is the Chair of the Wise Young Professionals Board and works as a Senior Data Scientist at BMT. Her day-to-day job usually consists of running Agile software projects, implementing Data Governance for nationwide cyber information, and using machine learning to process natural language databases. But has also been found in rural Indonesia supporting the BMT Giveback programme, sailing Southampton (UK) waters, and presenting to Universities and on webinars.
