Lukas McFarlane Got To Dance Semi Final “Impossible” 10 Years Later…

Описание: 10 years ago today my #GotToDance Semi Final Performance aired LIVE on British television. On February 10th, 2013 I performed a solo to #Impossible by @jamesarthur23 and my life truly changed forever in that moment. I’ll never forget finishing, hearing the roar of the crowd, and not really being able to believe the reaction. Up until this day I didn’t really understand what I was a part of, and after this day, everything was different.

Not many people know that the producers of the show actually told me I WASN’T allowed to use this track. They didn’t want to be associated with The X Factor so close to James’s win…I choreographed to it anyways 🙈😬 When I sent them the solo that was then planned for the final if I should make it, I soon after received a call telling me that not only did they want me to DO the solo, but that I should do it in the Semi Final instead in case I didn’t make the final as they wanted it to be seen no matter what! This is arguably the most iconic performance of my career…it is crazy to think it almost wasn’t even created! 🤯

I wanted the challenge of re creating these solos 10 years on. 10 years of ups and downs, extreme heart break and unfathomable joy, lessons too many to count, professional experiences I still can’t comprehend, 2 more knee surgeries (of 4 total) under my belt, and a whole lot of life lived. What do I bring to these 3 life changing performances as the artist I am now? Well…here’s the second one.

It felt beautifully nostalgic and VERY full circle to be shooting this at @diversitystudio_ with @ashleybanjogram watching and cheering me on just feet in front of me…10 years later.
