This is an old video clip shot my Mr. Jim Vaughan of the early times of the Austin & Northwestern Railroad (AUNW), which was the second one of the early railroads in RailTex's growing empire.
The quality isn't great as my copy was one made by Mr. Vaughan for me circa 1989 or 1990. But it captures the flavor of the operations back then and a bit of the personality of the folks that were operating it, as well as that of Mr. Vaughan himself.
This clip is of a westbound train out of Austin to either Summit or Burnet. The power is two leased units from the M-K-T, No. 341 (ex-ICG 9517) and No. 324 (ex-Conrail 7813). Bert Dockall, a furloughed Santa Fe Engineer is at the throttle.
