Upright Bass for SALE

Описание: FOR SALE is my Vienna Strings "MUNICH" 3/4 upright bass. Set up by Ralph Alcala in Los Angeles. Bass has D'Addario Orchestra low tension strings and a brand new Fishman Full Circle pickup. Bass has also been installed with fingerboard dots. They are small enough to not be visible from a distance even in a small club, but are visible up close and really help. I liked them so much I had them done on my other bass. The dots are at the low "G" and "Bb" (side of the neck) and at the "D", octave "G", high "Bb", high harmonic "D" and high harmonic "G" (on the fingerboard). With complete new set up and additions I've put about $450-$500 into the bass.

The bass has a couple scratches on the bottom near the end pin (not visible when playing the bass) and a small ding on the bass side (see photo). Bass had a neck repair, and was completely fixed by having a solid oak dowel installed (also see photo). There are, however, no signs of any problems with sound or resonance because of the repair. In my opinion, there is something about it that actually feels more stable to me. The neck is a "D" neck, and just a tad on the bigger side, but feels very solid and not too big even with my smaller hands.

The bass is in great shape and has been my workhorse for years. The only reason I'm looking to sell is because I have a small place now and no extra room to store it, and I have an old Juzek I picked up that seems to be my new "go to". Comes with gig bag, no bow included. Bass is in overall good condition and plays well and sounds great pizz or with a bow.

This sound demo includes 3 options:
1) DPA 4099 positioned directly in front of the bass string F hole. Going DI directly into Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 sound card (phantom power on) and into Logic.
2) Michael Joly modded Nady condenser mic (mic is a copy and sounds in character similar to a Neumann U87). Going into a Manley VOXBOX preamp (preamp section on, compressor and de ess is bypass, and EQ is on but pretty flat and minimal). Then going into the Scarlett 18i8 and then into Logic.
3) Fishman Full Circle DI - pickup, 1/4" cable directly into Scarlett 18i8 then into Logic.

I've done these three models to simulate a potential live mic situation (DPA), a studio recording situation (Nady and Manley), and a dry "live" situation (Fishman pickup DI).
