'Doctor' Charged Over Botched Circumcision Of Boy

Описание: A 52-year-old 'Doctor', who was allegedly involved in a botched circumcision of a 10-year-old boy at a clinic near Cheras Utama, was charged at the Kajang Magistrate’s Court today.

It was previously reported that the boy's penis head was severed during a laser-based procedure at the private clinic.

Azahari Hashim pleaded not guilty today to three charges, causing grievous hurt, operating an unregistered private clinic, and practicing medicine without qualification.

The first charge, under the Penal Code, carries a maximum two years’ imprisonment or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

The father of four was also charged under the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act as well as the Medical Act for the second and third offence respectively.

He allegedly committed the offences at Taman Cheras Utama, in Hulu Langat on December 20 last year.

Magistrate Nor Afidah Idris set bail at rm9,000 with one surety for all the charges and fixed January 11 for mention.
