Here's my favorite movement from Bach's Prelude, Fugue, and Allegro in E-flat major (BWV 998). The piece was originally written for the lautenwerck, a keyboard instrument that was traditionally strung with gut and had a timbre very similar to a lute or classical guitar (actually, when I listen to recordings of it, I'm reminded of the "guitar" setting on electric pianos haha). According to Eliot Fisk, the inspiration for BWV 998 may have originated from a month-long visit that German lutenist Silvius Leopold Weiss paid to Bach in 1739.
