None of these are the greatest cocktails out there, but a fun experience to imagine yourself getting comfort from a hot libation on a cold winter day at the original Trader Vics in Oakland California.

Cafe Royal - 1
2-3 oz cup of hot strong coffee
1 sugar cube
Cognac, brandy, or Demerara rum
Place a teaspoon over a cup of coffee. Put sugar in a teaspoon. Fill teaspoon with Demerara Rum and ignite. When flame dies, pour the contents of spoon into coffee and stir.

Capetown Coffee
1 tbsp cream of coconut
1 oz Bourbon
Hot extra-strong coffee
Softly whipped cream
Put syrup and Bourbon into an Irish coffee glass or coffee cup. Fill 3/4 full with coffee. Top with a spoonful of whipped cream.

Hot Rum Cow
1 tsp bar sugar
1 dash Angostura bitters
1 dash vanilla
8 oz very hot milk
1 ½ oz light Puerto Rican
Blend thoroughly in an electric drink mixer. Pour into a large heated mug or a planter's punch glass. Dust with grated nutmeg.

Hot Brown Cow
3 oz hot milk
3 oz strong hot coffee
2 oz Jamaica rum
Pour milk and coffee into 8-ounce highball glass or mug. Add rum and stir. Dust with grated nutmeg, if you wish.
