With profound lyricism, "Rivières" explores the dynamics of movement and the ephemeral, blending delicate textures with intense bursts. In the tradition of great piano-less trios, Damien, Jim, and Diogo advocate for a raw and stripped-down sound that gets straight to the point. On one side, we find the energy of Coltrane and the boldness of Ornette, and on the other, the contemporary European spectral expressions, all infused with a breath of Orientalism and mysticism. These three musicians lead us into a world where each note is a breath, a shiver, a call to journey.
