This historic house was built in 1929 during the French colonial era and once belonged to a local district mandarin known as Huyện Chiếu.
Today, the property has been taken over and managed by the government, but for many years it has stood quietly — almost forgotten.
Located in Bình Phan village, Chợ Gạo district, Vietnam, this old house carries nearly a century of history.
It was once used as a local working place for authorities, but over time, unusual events at night and many local stories caused people to slowly leave.
Eventually, no one could stay here after dark.
For more than 5 years, the house has remained abandoned.
The front structure still stands, but the surrounding area and the entire back section have turned into a wild, overgrown forest after decades without maintenance.
Thick vines have wrapped around the old walls.
Roots have pushed deep into the structure.
Nature has slowly taken control of this once-important place.
Local residents say the property has not been fully cleaned for over 50 years.
Many parts of the house are now hidden behind dense vegetation, making it difficult — and sometimes dangerous — to enter.
In Part 1, we begin by clearing the front yard and carefully entering the inside of this historic 1929 house.
This is the first step in restoring a place filled with history, memories, and stories that few people still remember today.
This is more than a cleanup —
it is an effort to bring life back to a forgotten historical home.
