The bending moment shear force exerted on a ship by sea waves is directly proportional to the ship's length. This means, the longer the ship, the higher the required longitudinal bending strength. If the ship doesn't possess sufficient strength, it can easily break apart under external forces. Additionally, if the ship's height is too excessive, it risks capsizing under enormous waves. Hence, maintaining a length below 400 meters is a judicious decision, carefully weighed against various considerations.
