These snakes are weird. And I love them. The Rubber Boa is a beautiful little snake that lives in the northwestern US, one of only a handful of native boas found in the country. I grew up finding them int he woods of Oregon, and now after a long time of just keeping rattlesnakes, I'm getting some pets! I found some rubber boas for sale online that were ethically bred, and bought them right away. In this video, you'll see the setup of a bioactive enclosure for rubber boas, and unboxing when they arrive ... but not after a hiccup or two. Guest appearance by a baby Western Diamondback Rattlesnake at my office.
