In this video, I am going to be continuing the ZX9R restoration series.

In this episode, I am going to be removing the entire transmission from the lower crankcase. Before I can do this however, the oil pump assembly and water pump impeller need to be removed first.

Once the transmission is out, I will be discussing the well documented problem with the ZX9R C1/C2 gearbox and how I will be attempting to remedy this issue by fitting a 2006 Z1000 transmission in its place.

I will talk about the differences between the two that we need to overcome to make it fit and the additional small parts that I need to purchase to make this a relatively easy 'drop-in' replacement.
