I used Speeds from their first release and I’ve held on to one in which sparked my attention after noticing some similarities…Or a lot of similarities…The subtle teardrop head shape got my attention first, then having them pressed together just blew me away…They are virtually identical. I commented saying the GT98 is more powerful, however that was based on my first hit with extremely low tension..Strung now at 52lbs, it’s not powerful at all really. Racquet companies are always looking at improving every model from what is already a good design, so I’m not surprised that this incredible feeling Speed from 15yrs ago, shares similarities with the new Gravity Tour 98. And I’m sure some people out there that don’t like big brands will probably see this as a negative(copying and old design), but just remember, most ATP players are using old frames just painted with the new marketed paint job. And at least it’s their own, never forget that the frame that put Babolat on the map with their popular original Pure Drive, was in fact the Pro Kennex Destiny mold they purchased off Pro Kennex. The Destiny was the racquet I actually used in around 1992/93, so I was actually using the original Pure Drive😅
