This works when the UV's are unwrapped and look like a top down view of the material. This will not work with UV's that are like a jig saw puzzle. Like those from Meshroom.
**I rebaked these textures from Meshroom in Blender prior to making this video to be more edit friendly. If I need to make another video on baking high poly meshes textures to low poly meshes let me know.
Next video I will go over the texture mapping on a dummy. But you can look at other videos too on YouTube where people explain how to texture creatures. It is the same thing for the most part. I am not expert, I am only one year old in my Blender and BeamNG World Editor journey. Started editing stuff March 2021 and learning Blender around the same time.
*** Personally I prefer many aspects of non-pbr materials over pbr ones. For one the non-pbr can glow, and to me the reflections look better. Maybe not as real looking, but they sure shine a lot better.
