I’m Eric Hurst, a career fire service communicator, former firefighter, and Public Information Officer. I spent 20 years with South Metro Fire Rescue, including the last decade as Communications Manager and PIO, where I helped engineer a YouTube and digital storytelling strategy that grew to more than 200,000 subscribers.

After retiring from South Metro, I briefly served as Communications Director for the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control. Today, I work as a Senior Communications Strategist and Public Information Officer with Aurora Fire Rescue, where my passion for street-corner media interviews and real-time crisis communication was reignited.
