Hathras Satsang Hadsa: Conspiracy or accident?

Описание: A peaceful religious gathering in Hathras has turned into a tragic accident, leaving many dead and injured.

Devotees from all over Uttar Pradesh and nearby states had come together for the religious event when a deadly stampede claimed the lives of 121 people.

Many bodies were lying on blocks of ice inside a government hospital, while the crying relatives of the victims waited outside to take the bodies home. The victims were part of a large crowd that had gathered near Phulrai village in the Sikandrarau area for a religious gathering led by preacher Bhole Baba.

The stampede happened around 3:30 pm. According to an eyewitness, thousands of people were at the event, and when Baba Narayan Hari was leaving in his car, people ran behind him to touch his feet. As they were returning, people slipped and fell on each other because parts of the ground were muddy from water overflowing from a nearby drain.

The main reason of the stampede was overcrowding, and security lapse on the part of the organisers, thus calling for an investigation. Authorities have indicated that heat and suffocation inside the tent may have contributed to the stampede at the event.

UP Police officer Rajesh Singh said that overcrowding was likely a significant factor. Initial reports suggested organizers had permission for 5,000 attendees, yet more than 15,000 people ultimately arrived.
