Описание: In response to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the USS Midway Museum has created below-deck video tours led by our Midway volunteers! While select tour routes are closed during this time, we are excited to share these spaces with you via video in this series entitled, Midway Declassified.

ABOUT BERTHING & THE FO'C'SLE
If you were a sailor aboard the USS Midway your private space was very small. Beds, or bunks, were stack three high and there was not much room to store clothing and other personal items. Officers had slightly more spaces in their bunkrooms, but not by much. The forecastle, or fo’c’sle, was the domain of the ship’s boatswain mates. Here the chains for the ship’s massive anchors could be found.
