The Last Samurai visits Nishi Honganji temple in Kyoto and explains why there are two Honganji temples in Kyoto. He also introduces Hiunkaku, the beautiful pavilion which is not open to public usually.
Nishi Honganji temple is the headquarters of Jodo Shinshu sect of Buddhism which is the largest sect of Buddhism in Japan. And it has one of the largest wooden structures in the world.
