We finally explored the World Museum of Mining in Butte, Montana — a place that first caught our attention thanks to Destination Fear (now called Project Fear), who made a brief stop here before visiting the Old Montana State Prison. Inspired by their visit, we went underground to explore the real tunnels, learn about the miners’ lives, and see history preserved firsthand.
From the massive stamp mill to the engine room, the towering headframe, and deep underground tunnels, this tour shows what life was really like for miners working in complete darkness, using only candlelight and carbide lamps to guide them. Every corner is packed with history, fascinating stories, and jaw-dropping views!
