Spiked Chief Political Writer Brendan O’Neill weighs in on reports the British government has dropped plans for mandatory digital ID to work in the UK.
“It was an awful policy, it was an authoritarian policy which is quite typical of Keir Starmer,” Mr O’Neill told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.
“The worst thing about the ID cards idea is that it was just a way of avoiding tackling the real problem, which is our borders.”
