I paid a visit to the grave of Per Yngve Ohlin in early August 2013.
As most metal fans know, Per Yngve Ohlin a.k.a. Dead
was vocalist for Morbid and Mayhem.
After his infamous suicide, the body was brought
from Norway back to Sweden.
His body was buried in Österhaninge begravningsplats.
(Not to be confused with Österhaninge kyrkogård!)
There's a place for ashes near the western entrance of Östernhaninge begravingsplats
but for some reason Dead's gravestone
stands among the "normal" graves.
(I'm not sure about this custom or even if his ashes are even near the gravestone.)
The name on the grave is written as
Pelle Ohlin instead of Per Yngve Ohlin.
(It reminds me of Jim Morrison's grave at
Cimetière du Père Lachaise in Paris
which used to read Jim Morrison instead of James Douglas Morrison.
Pelle is common nickname for someone called Per
as Jim is for someone called James)
