Patrick Decker vs. Lars Hielscher & Anton Limonov (3. Tischtennis Bundesliga Nord 2023/24)

Описание: This season is really something very special that I have never experienced before in my table tennis career: we only have one uninjured player at the moment! So the signs are not very good for us to climb from last the place in the table.

Nothing changes so far in my knee situation. I'll try to do a second MRT this week to figure out the diagnosis. Damage to the miniscus has already been ruled out and my cartilage layer is also still well developed, so I hope that it will be no serious problems. Nevertheless, I'm playing with pain at the moment and each time I have to struggle with it for a few days afterwards.

In addition, I still can't train at the moment and I'm happy about every game I win. These are currently seven wins and seven losses with no real training since April 2023.

But now to my individual matches: I've started against my old friend Lars who played 18 years in the first league in Germany as a pro-player, he became six times German Champion in doubles, Vice European team-champion with the German national team and is the current DTTZ-head coach. I've only won one time in my life against him (I vaguely remember when I was 16-17 years old at the North German Youth championships), so I'm more than satisfied with my performance to win against him 3:0 under my current circumstances. It was a tactical match and I found his weaknesses on that day and I was able to (mentally) enforce this strategy until the end.

In my next match I had to play against Anton Limonov, a young talent from Ukraine. Unfortunately, I lost relatively significantly due to a lot of (simple) mistakes, uncertainty in my game and a tactic that I couldn't get over until the end. That was very disappointing but I don't want to complain now because he played very well and I just don't have enough match practice at the moment.

All in all, my goal is to keep a balanced balance. Check.✅
