This short video is produced by the City of London Corporation’s Health and Safety Team and gives practical advice to Building and Facilities Managers on how to assess risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for rope access work. Key aspects of the work, which are integral to safety and which we often find are overlooked in the RAMS, are discussed here.
Further guidance is available from the IRATA Code of Practice, the HSE, BS ISO 22846:2012 or its appendix BS7985:2013 – the code of practice for the use of rope access methods.
