4K files are larger and harder on your computer…so is it worth filming your reels and vertical content in 4k, just to upload them in 1080p??
For me, the answer is absolutely - not only does it give me more resolution and flexibility in post to zoom in/out and recompose shots, but it future proofs my footage.
Even when not cropping in, I can usually tell the difference in detail from 1080 to 4k - even when exporting in 4k, and even after compression / uploading to social media.
