60063 on test with DB for new owners!

Still wearing unbranded DB red livery, 60063 opens up through Melton Mowbray on 15th January 2026 working the 6Z41 Peterborough West Yard to Mountsorrel Sidings. 66034 was tucked inside for insurance and the train consisted of twenty empty JNA box wagons, a number of which are unusually wearing GB Railfreight livery. 60063 was under test following a fairly lengthy overhaul at Toton TMD, the work having been undertaken by DB Cargo hence the locomotive being tested on one of their diagrams.
Prior to today, 60063 hadn't worked a loaded train since June 2020. The fully loaded test run operated this morning from Mountsorrel to Peterborough (as 6L41) in which the Class 60 successfully hauled just over 2000 tonnes, with 66034 on the rear rather than inside.
The loco is thought to have been purchased by DBI Holdings Ltd, for possible use on Land Recovery traffic along with a number of other Class 60s. No doubt all will become fully clear in several weeks once 60063 emerges from the paint shop at Toton in its new robes.
