Welcome to Behind The Smoke, a new series where I take you behind the scenes of Smokey Goodness, and behind the person you’ve been seeing online for years. Social media is theatre, it’s the highlight reel, and it doesn’t always show the full story. This series does.
In this first episode we talk about the real side of building a business, what I underestimated when I started in 2010, the time it takes, the sacrifices, and why entrepreneurship isn’t always “freedom”, sometimes it feels like a golden prison. We also dive into how American-style BBQ started growing in the Netherlands, what the early days looked like, and when I finally realized this could become more than a hobby.
