DDRX x HOTTEST PARTY 1+2 revisited. THE HOTTEST FIVE! ESP PFC and NOT a PFC. Arcade Timing.

This will be a long one...

The debut of these songs brought about a couple new things to the arcades. The first and most prominent thing being dedicated routines for select songs, which these songs had directly brought over from the first two Wii titles. However, it was with two exceptions, SUPER SAMURAI and BEAUTIFUL INSIDE did NOT get their routines. WILL was the ONLY HP1 routine and animations used in the game. Some of the DDRX songs were given specific routines from the HOTTEST PARTY 2 animation set with mixed results. Though apparently BUTTERFLY (X-EDIT) got a special setup and was eventually brought over to the JP Wii release MUSIC FIT when that song got there.

DDRX had also brought over a few of the Wii game's stages, HOWEVER the busted BETSON US CABS DIDN'T HAVE IT!!!! From what I've seen lately, the routines for the HP songs are still there, but the stages are sadly gone.

All of these got added starting with WILL and LOVING YOU being part of the initial unlocks with the SuperNOVA 2 CS Konami originals. Followed by BEAUTIFUL INSIDE, INTO YOUR HEART, and then finally SUPER SAMURAI. Funny enough, SUPER SAMURAI was originally rated a 16 and then bumped down to 15. 15 IMO feels more like right to me, though if you had to do it on actual HP1, I'd call it at 16 at 1x.

For those of us coming from Wii, this was essentially the first time WILL, BEAUTIFUL INSIDE, and SUPER SAMURAI could be played with a speed modifier and a different noteskin!

As for the runs themselves, the one thing I felt when it came to playing these on the actual arcade is the same feeling I had here. They FEEL familiar to step, but they feel VERY different to play here. In the case of the HP1 songs, it's down to actually having speed mods to time the steps better. But I swear LOVING YOU feels somehow slower than I hear it in my head. On another note, I think SUPER SAMURAI will FOREVER be the bane of my existence, speed mods or no. I have yet to actually FC this again, and it wasn't gonna happen this time either. It's been a while since I've touched that chart and no lie, I was rusty. Parts I KNOW I can hit I didn't.
