I like to think that this album is split up into 3 sections:
Section 1 (Tracks 1-7):
A more somber, slow-paced start, featuring trip-hop beats and ambience, with drum breaks in between. Most songs were written during very tough periods in my life, where I had felt isolated and desperate. From waiting on texts and phone calls that I thought would never arrive, to not speaking to anybody for days, to eventually losing my mind several times, feeling hopeless in the process.
I wanted to try something different with this section. Instead of the usual fast-paced electronic ambient everyone's familiar with, why not add diversity to my production by going slower, much like "desolation; depravity" or even "HomePage"? The first experiment I ever put out like this was "I've been missing you", first released on a filler EP, now given its proper place on this album.
"willpower" was first produced at the very beginning of 2021, where I recently recovered the project file 4 years later, further enhancing and remastering the song with everything that I've learned since.
Section 2 (Tracks 8-13):
The initial idea and first iteration that sparked this project. At first, I just wanted it to be a thematical album all about the game "Fatal Frame", which I had played in 2024 and absolutely loved. However, I gradually lost interest in this idea, as my interests had fluctuated, so it was scrapped. All that remained were the first 2 tracks.
Fatal Frame is a solid game, so I thought I'd show love for it in my own way. You can hear the lack of melodies in this one. I wanted to focus more on a much darker atmosphere, which I thought suited the tone of the game well. "STRANGLING" and "HELL GATE" are both 2021 tracks, repurposed and remastered for this project.
We all have our ghosts sometimes, and we all have to fight them one way or another.
Section 3 (Tracks 14-16):
The penultimate, yet satisfactory, end to the project, featuring more familiar, fun, and high-energy tracks, until the self-titled brings an end with a full circle, coming back to the style of section 1. It's funny how things coincidentally come in a full circle.
On a much lighter note, though, those first two tracks were extremely fun to make; I thought it'd be a nice reward for everyone who has made it to the end.
Additional notes:
The ambience for Ayanami II was also produced in 2021, hence why the original ambient mix was included as a bonus. The Yves Tumor remix was highly requested by a friend.
This is the way I see things, and this is what I define my musical endeavours as. Extremely varied, but also personal when I feel it's needed.
This is a MASSIVE tribute to all the interests and fixations I've had over the years. It's also a big thank you to all my supporters who have been listening, both new and old, and a huge thank you to all my friends for supporting me every step of the way. I apologise for the long wait, but I hope this big album was well worth it. It's my longest yet, and I hope it makes up for lost time.
Inspirations:
Fatal Frame 1
This is where it was meant to begin, but because the gameplay of the first was so captivating, I couldn't help but brainstorm ideas about a possible concept album. By far the scariest PS2 game I've played yet, and it served as good inspiration.
Cowboy Bebop
During a difficult time in November 2025, my thoughts often drifted to the anime, thinking about its theme and philosophy about the past and the present. Thanks to this, "just a dream" and the intro track exist.
Devon Hendryx/JPEGMAFIA
The main inspiration for section 1. I always LOVED the way he produced, from "The Ghost~Pop Tape", to "The Rockwood Escape Plan". Those older projects were the only things I listened to in summer and winter 2025, and they greatly influenced the beginning of the album, especially "memento1".
