GENESIS OF AQUARION is Kawamori's big homage and modernized take on the combining super robot shows of the 70's and 80's, where depending on the gattai the robot has certain abilities or advantages, a la getter robo, all while at the same time trying to give life lessons to the pilots and fighting the angels amidst an impeding apocalypse. Also with this new franchise Kawamori was able to funnel all of his super robot sensibilities into it and keep all of his real robot sensibilities into Macross.
So my friends, I'm Absa, and in this video I'm going to explore the first saga of this franchise, Genesis of Aquarion, and how it's a show about robots and angels that teaches you how to open your human heart the correct way.
