Abstract:
It has long been argued that exchanges, prime brokers and even large funds should provide a cryptographic-based proof-of-solvency. In this talk, we’ll go through the history of proof-of-solvency and discuss advantages and limitations to the various schemes that have been proposed. We’ll conclude with a review of SOTA models that use ZK-proofs and discuss recent proposals including those by Vitalik Buterin and others.
Bio:
Craig published his first cryptography paper at age 16. He started his career in finance at Jane Street after completing a math degree at Cambridge. Straddling the boundaries between trading, research and development, he spearheaded the development and execution of various quantitative alpha strategies spanning multiple timescales and asset classes. He is currently the co-founder of Proven, a firm that builds ZK-based technologies.
